The American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) Present Global Pet Expo
March 16-18, 2011
Wednesday and Thursday: 9 am – 6 pm, Friday: 9 am - 5 pm
Global Pet Expo, the pet industry’s largest annual trade show, will feature the newest, and most innovative pet products on the market today. With 62% of American households in the U.S. owning at least one pet, this is your opportunity to inform your audience of the hottest pet products before they hit store shelves.
New to this year’s show is an all-weekday schedule. This change was in response to feedback from show buyers that they would spend more time at Global Pet Expo should the show dates take place on weekdays only as opposed to the past format of Thursday through Saturday. As buyer attendance is critical to the success of Global Pet Expo and its exhibitors, Show organizers listened and made the change to a Wednesday through Friday format for 2011.
Nearly 800 companies from around the world will showcase the latest and greatest products available for all types of pets including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, small animals and horses. Global Pet Expo boasts 240,000 net square feet of booth space, with 11 football fields’ worth of pet products, more than 3,000 product launches and 150 first-time exhibiting companies. Special sections on the show floor include Everything Aquatic, The Natural Pet, The Boutique, What’s New!, New Products Showcase and International Pavilion.
Qualified media will have the opportunity to attend a press conference at the show where APPA President, Bob Vetere will announce 2010 pet industry spending figures and forecasts for 2011. Attendees will also receive a preview of APPA’s 2011-2012 National Pet Owners Survey. The Survey, which is the only of its kind in the pet industry, monitors consumer habits on an ongoing basis in order to identify short and long-term trends in pet ownership, product and service consumption, and lifestyle and media habits.
Global Pet Expo is open to independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers, and other qualified professionals, making it the most important gathering of buyers, pet product manufacturers, and international attendees in the U.S. The show is not open to the general public. Online media registration begins Monday, November 1, 2010. Visit www.globalpetexpo.org/pressreg
