New Products and Services Keep Pet Memories Alive

GREENWICH, CONN., May 29, 2007 – They bring so much joy to our lives that it’s no wonder such sadness can come from a pet’s death. While it is difficult to cope with the loss, many people are seeking meaningful ways to memorialize their beloved pets’ lives.According the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association’s (APPMA) 2007-2008 National Pet Owners Survey, two-to-three-out-of-ten pet owners say they plan to buy some item for their pets’ remains or to memorialize their pet.

Memorial garden stones for the home or yard are the most common item pet owners purchase while others turn to an urn for their pets’ ashes.

“Most pet owners consider their pets a member of the family and are treated that way even when their pet passes,” said APPMA President, Bob Vetere.
