(Greenwich, CT.), March 20, 2007 – A nationwide recall of dozens of pet food brands has prompted consumer concerns regarding the safety of pet food and treats. In an effort to address these issues, leading industry experts are offering advice and answering commonly asked questions.

Prior to his position at Oil-Dri, Vetere spent 25 years at First Brands Corporation, a $1.2 billion publicly traded manufacturer and marketer of consumer products, including GLAD Wrap and Bags, Prestone Anti-Freeze, and Scoop Away and Jonny Cat Pet Litter. While there, he held a number of positions including associate general counsel/director of government relations, senior corporate counsel, corporate director of professional development and senior corporate staff engineer.
Dr. Gary Pusillo
Dr. Pusillo is a registered Feed Microscopist, a certified Professional Animal Scientist, and a board certified member of the American College of Animal Nutrition, Dr. Pusillo has a Bechelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry and a minor in Lab Animal Production from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. His Masters degree is in animal production and his PhD is in Animal Nutrition. Dr. Pusillo’s varied background includes experience as a large purebred goat breeder and dairy producer, CEO of his own feed company, Director of Nutrition at a premix company and manager of a specialty feed division. Dr. Pusillo is one of the leading private practice forensic investigators in the animal and feed industry and is regularly called upon to testify as an expert trial witness throughout the United States. He is widely recognized throughout the feed and nutrition industry for his expertise in direct-fed microbials and nutraceuticals.
